tape measure – around the waist, chest, butt, arms, legs, neck


calories out using a fitbit or apple watch

calorie in using myfitnesspal, … and maybe weight watcher points

ketones urine blood or breath

blood sugars

heart rate at rest and during exercise


Non-scale victories – NSV


more furtive glances from people you don’t know

clothes feel better

better skin,

flatter stomach

joints feel better

look younger


improved attention span and memory

sleeping better

higher energy

better at sports – faster stronger

you just feel sexier

saving money
