  • type 2 diabetes is a reversible disease
  • if you lose the weight, the diabetes goes away
  • the Calories in/ Calories out model isn’t helpful
  • some calories are more fattening than others
  • diabetes is a hormonal disorder, not a caloric disorder
  • its also important how often you eat
  • insulin goes up every time you eat
  • and it goes up higher depending on what you eat
  • snacking through the day is not something humans are meant to do
  • if you keep stimulating insulin, your body starts to get to it, leading to insulin resistance
  • which tells your body to create more insulin to store blood sugar
  • like the boy who cried wolf
  • all the diseases we talk about these days: heart disease stroke, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, type 2 diabetes and the complications that arise such as blindness and kidney disease are preventable
  • recent studies show that added salt doesn’t correlate to more heart attacks
  • transfats were a really bad choice for many years
  • intermittent fasting is a period of time every day when you don’t eat
  • humans have fasted for thousands of years
  • mostly for religious purposes
  • when you’re not eating, your body is forced to burn the sugar that was stored
  • when that is gone, it has to burn body fat
  • your body exists in the fed state where it is storing fat or the fasting state where it is burning body fat
  • fasting tells your body to switch to the burning body fat state

  • 8 million people die every year worldwide from obesity
