The linked video is titled:

food as a reward

Here are my notes:

  • if you’re going to have long term success in any weight loss program, omad or not, you’re going to have to get by using food as a reward
  • it probably started with our parents giving us ice cream for finishing our dinner
  • even as adults we tend to use food as a reward
  • we tie it into holidays, and superbowl Sunday
  • using food as a crutch for anxiety and stress is a double whammy – you don’t deal with initial problem, then you eat and gain weight and THAT adds stress
  • one of the benefits of omad is that you can’t use food as a crutch
  • you now have to deal with the anxiety, the problem, the stressors
  • when everyone around you is eating, and you say, its not my time, or you have full control by eating one plate
  • OMAD can be difficult
  • but we know what happens when we take the easy way out
  • when you take food out of the centerpiece of every get-together, you can now focus on the people around you
  • make peace with every aspect of eating, and enjoy every moment
  • food is not a crutch, it is fuel

Let’s figure it out!  The Fasting Motivation podcast is not medical advice.
