even if its 36 hours, having a full day without food can be a huge health boost

Here are my notes:

  • Rachel believes that although some protocols allow you to eat 500 calories on fasting days, she does not eat any calories
  • you can listen to Rachel’s back story which is very inspiring
  • she grew up overweight
  • she lacked self esteem, she was depressed
  • she had the mindset where she thought that she wasn’t good enough and never would be good enough
  • she tried many different diets, nothing worked, and gained even more weight up to 236 pounds
  • the thing that changed everything was that she could not even walk 2 miles
  • her boyfriend was doing 16:8 intermittent fasting, so she learned all about it
  • she used TDEE to identify calories and used the lose-it app to count calories
  • she started out doing TDEE calories every other day, eating 500 calories every other day
  • then moved on to a full fast on fasting days
  • after 7 months, Rachel lost 72 pounds
  • the best thing about it is you can eat whatever you want as long on eating days as it is under your calories
  • then she added exercise
  • after 1 year, she was down 98 pounds on fasting and running
  • then added in strength training
  • she has many tools now and she can tune a lot to allow her to eat socially
  • she is a completely different person today
  • Rachel worked hard to get where she is
